Since I was in elementary school it has been my desire to be a teacher. Much to my younger brother's dismay, we spent many hours as kids playing school with of course him as the student and I as the teacher. This desire to teach carried on through high school and then college where I graduated from Appalachian State with my Elementary Education degree. In 2004 I continued my education by earning my National Board Certification. Last year I earned my renewal certification. I also became part of Wake County's Teacher Leader Corp where I collaborate with other teachers as we look at ways to utilize 21st century learning in our classrooms.
This is my twelfth full year teaching, I did take a break for a few years as our family was growing. As you all know WSES is one AMAZING school and I am so thankful to be part of such a wonderful family. Each day is a new adventure and I look forward to what this year will bring.
A little bit about my own family...there are 4 of us: myself, my husband Si, our oldest daughter Hailey, and our youngest daughter Leah. We also have two cats that we have had since we were married and are very much a part of our family. The four of us love to spend time together playing games, being outside, as well as many other things. Around our house you hear "GO WOLFPACK and Let's Go Canes!"
